Gehörte dann zur Schuylkill Valley Metro, einem 62 Meilen langen Railway-System. Die Wurzeln liegen in der Philadelphia, Germantown & Norristown RR. Diese wurde 1831 konzessioniert als allererste Bahn für Personenverkehr in Philadelphia. Die Strecke von der 9th und Green Street nach Germantown ging 1832 in Betrieb. Anfangs Pferdebahnbetrieb, im Nov. 1832 lieferte Matthias W. Baldwin (1795-1866), einer der berühmtesten Lokomotivhersteller der Welt, dann die Dampflok “Old Ironsides”. 1870 wurde die Bahn für 999 Jahre an die Philadelphia & Reading RR verpachtet. Anschließend ungewöhnlicher Weise, ohne jemals reorganisiert zu werden, bis Ende des 20.
