Picture: Number: 462 Info: Die am 17.2.1831 konzessionierte Gesellschaft war die allererste Passagiereisenbahn von Philadelphia. Bahnbetrieb ab 1832 auf der Strecke von der 9th und Green Street nach Germantown (zuerst als Pferdebahn). Am 23.11.1832 lieferte Matthias W. Baldwin (1795-1866), einer der berühmtesten Lokomotivhersteller der Welt, die Dampflok “Old Ironsides” an die “Philadelphia, Germantown & Norristown Railroad”. 1870 wurde die Bahn für 999 Jahre an die Philadelphia & Reading RR verpachtet. Specials: Wunderschönes Papier mit sieben Kupferstichvignetten, u.a. zwei Uralt-Eisenbahnen als Personen- und Güterzug, Portraits von Washington, Penn, Franklin und Fulton. Availability: Das mit Abstand älteste je angebotene Stück dieser interessanten Bahn. Bis heute nur 2 Stück bekannt. Condition: EF-VF.
