Das erste 143 Meilen lange Stück bis Brownwood ging 1891 in Betrieb, später um 53 Meilen nach Brady verlängert. Außerdem wurde in Fort Worth die Ringeisenbahn zur Verbindung mit der Missouri, Kansas & Texas Ry. betrieben. Um 1900 von der großen St. Louis & San Francisco RR (ein 5.000 Meilen umfassendes System) “geschluckt” und damit schlußendlich Teil der mächtigen Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fè RR geworden, die zu der Zeit die größte Eisenbahn der Welt war.
