President der Bahn war damals C. W. Goodyear (aus der berühmten Gummi-Industriellen-Familie), dessen Firma die Bahn für brasilianische Kautschuk-Lieferungen über den Hafen von New Orleans benötigte (die USA importierten damals über 50 % der Welt-Kautschuk-Produktion). Die RR wurde 1933 insolvent und dann als Ry. reorganisiert, zugleich wurde die 152 Meilen lange Hauptstrecke Slidell, La. - Jackson, Miss. nebst drei 75 Meilen langen Nebenstrecken auf 99 Jahre an den Großaktionär verpachtet, die Gulf, Mobile & Northern RR (1940 zur Gulf, Mobile & Ohio RR reorganisiert). | | Specials: | Ausgestellt auf Charles W.
