Info:Gegründet 1891 durch Edwin Warfield (später Gouverneur des Staates Maryland) zum Bau einer 28 Meilen langen Bahn (die überwiegend eine aufgelassene Trasse der vormaligen Southern Maryland RR benutzte) von Washington D.C. an die Chesapeake Bay. Dort hatte man 3.000 acres Land erworben und plante den Bau eines großen Urlaubs-Resorts für die Ober- und Mittelklasse der US-Hauptstadt. 1894 erhielt die Eisenbahngesellschaft die Genehmigung zur Gründung der Stadt Chesapeake Beach. Profitabel wurde die Bahn nie: Weder zahlte Sie je eine Dividende noch jemals auch nur einen cent Anleihezinsen. Als 1923 auch noch das luxuriöse Belvedere Hotel in Chesapeake Beach einem Großfeuer zum Opfer fiel, war das der Anfang vom Ende: 1935 wurde die Eisenbahn durch eine Buslinie ersetzt.
