Das Zentralmassiv mit seinen diversen Flanken verläuft in Nord-Süd-Richtung. In verschiedenen Bergbau-Perioden (so auch von dieser mit englischem Kapital finanzierten Gesellschaft) wurde die an den Hängen offen zu Tage tretende Steinkohle abgebaut.
