Der Bau der doppelgleisigen 35 Meilen langen Strecke Concord-Nashua, N.H. mit einem 7 Meilen langen Abzweig Concord-Hookset begann 1841, bereits im Herbst 1842 wurde die Bahn eröffnet. Später wurden noch angepachtet die Concord & Portsmouth RR (40 Meilen), die Manchester & North Weare RR (19 Meilen), die Suncook Valley RR (20 Meilen) und die Nashua, Acton & Boston RR (20 Meilen). Auf dem insgesamt 142 Meilen langen Netz verkehrten dann nicht weniger als 40 Lokomotiven und über 1.000 Waggons!
