Das mit einer staatlichen 5%igen Zinsgarantie versehene Aktienkapital betrug bei der Gründung 75 Mio. Rbl. Die Bahn war konzessioniert für die Strecken Petersburg-Warschau, Moskau-Nishni-Nowgorod, Moskau-Feodosia und Orel-Libau (zusammen mehr als 4.300 km). Streckeneröffnungen: Petersburg-Gatschina, 42 Werst, 1.11.1853; Gatschina-Luga, 86 Werst, 5.12.1857; Luga-Pskoff, 129 Werst, 10.2.1859; Pskoff-Dünaburg, 241 Werst, 8.11.1860; Dünaburg-Landwarowo, 181 Werst, 9.5.1862; Landwarowo-Warschau, 371 Werst, 15.12.1862. Die vollständige Eröffnung der Strecke Moskau-Nishni-Nowgorod fand am 13.8.1862 statt. In Warschau besaß die Gesellschaft außerdem zwei Pferdebahnen und übernahm 1868 auch den Betrieb der Nicolai-Bahn. | | Specials: | Rückseitig Text auch in französisch, englisch. Äußerst dekorativ gestaltetes Papier, illustriert von dem italienisch-französischen Maler Hercole Catenacci (1816-1884). Catenacci mußte 1831, des Carbonarismus verdächtigt, nach Korfu fliehen.
