Die Baukosten betrugen 1,88 Mio. $, davon 1,18 Mio. von den Aktionären, der Rest über eine Anleihe aufgebracht. 1860 wurde die Bahn für 999 Jahre an die mächtige Pennsylvania Railroad verpachtet und war dann der mittlere Teil der 355 Meilen langen Hauptstrecke Philadelphia-Pittsburgh, Pa.
