Die kunstvolle Gestaltung stammt von dem belgischen Maler und Graphiker Gustave Fraipont. Fraipont, 1849 in Brüssel geboren, wirkte hauptsächlich in Paris, wo er sich als Aquarellist betätigte. Auf vortreffliche Lithographien folgten dann Illustrationen zu Zeitschriften wie “Paris Illustré” und “Univers Illustré”, Umschlagzeichnungen, Plakate usw.
