Im Sezessionskrieg wurde Cairo Stützpunkt der Mississippi River Squadron mit ihren über 200 Wasserfahrzeugen. Da es in Cairo kein verfügbares Land gab, befand sich die gesamte Maschinerie der Marine-Reparaturwerft auf schwimmenden Untersätzen und wurde 1862 flußaufwärts verlegt, nachdem die Armee in Mound City Land für eine Reparaturwerft sowie ein Militärhospital hatte erwerben können. | | Specials: | Zwei außergewöhnlich schöne 14 cm bw. 12 cm breite Vignetten mit riesigen Fabriken, Raddampfern sowie Baustoffverladung am Mississippi-Ufer. | | Availability: | Unentwertet.
