Man hatte sogar Brookings, South Dakota erreichen wollen. Nach Konkurs 1924 zur Minnesota Western Ry. gekommen und 1927 zur Minnesota, Northfield & Southern. Der Personenverkehr endete 1947, ab 1960 wurden die Gleise Stück für Stück abgebaut, seit 1995 betreibt die Union Pacific nur noch ein kleines Reststück von der Interstate 494 in die Innenstadt von Minneapolis.
