Bis 1985 starke Expansion und Verlegung des Firmensitzes nach Neumünster. 1987 Umwandlung in eine AG, erneute Verdoppelung der bebauten Fläche durch eine weitere Lager- und Versandhalle. 1988 an die Börse gegangen, wobei die Kaufhof Holding AG (61,5 %) und die Dresdner Bank (17,1 %) Großaktionäre blieben. 1998 kaufte der Wettbewerber Hach AG über 99 % der Oppermann-Aktien.
