(80 Meilen) und der Albany Extension nach Chatham (50 Meilen) zwischen 1832 (anfangs noch als Pferdebahn) und 1852 in Betrieb. Später wurde sie von „Commodore“ Cornelius Vanderbilt aufgekauft und zur Keimzelle der gewaltigen Vanderbilt-Unternehmungen (New York Central & Hudson River). | | Specials: | Mit Originalsignatur W.K. Vanderbilt (1849-1920). William Kissam trat nach seinem Studium an der Genfer Universität im Alter von 19 Jahren in das Eisenbahnunternehmen seines Großvaters ein, als dieser seinen Eisenbahnbesitz fest im New York Central-Konzern konsolidiert hatte. Nach dem Tode des “Commodore” wurde er zum zweiten Vice-President ernannt. Zusammen mit seinem Bruder Cornelius jr. trat er zu fast gleichen Teilen das Universalerbe an.
