Beide Staaten erteilten 1914 die Konzession zum Bau einer fast 300 km langen Eisenbahn von Tanger über den Eisenbahnknoten Meknès, dort scharf Richtung Osten nach Fez am Fuße des Atlasgebirges abknickend. Die Bahn ist noch heute in Betrieb. Specials: Zweisprachig französisch/spanisch.
