Die Strecke entlang der Genze zwischen Vermont und New York, die mehrfach gequert wurde, wurde gemeinsam geführt und 1865 fusionierten beide Bahnen zur Troy, Salem & Rutland RR. Diese wurde zunächst an die Rensselaer & Saratoga RR verpachtet und 1868 komplett übernommen. Später zur Delaware & Hudson gekommen.
