Bereits 1905 in Konkurs, dann als Detroit, Toledo & Ironton Ry. reorganisiert. Auch die ging bereits 1908 pleite, konnte aber ihren Betrieb aufrecht erhalten, bis sie 1920 von HENRY FORD gekauft wurde. Ford erkannte die strategische Bedeutung dieser Bahn, die seine Fabriken in Dearborn, Mich. mit praktisch allen großen Ost-West-Eisenbahnstrecken im Mittleren Westen verband. Genervt von Diskussionen mit der Monopolkommission verkaufte Ford die Bahn 1929 weiter an die Pennsylvania RR. PennCentral verkaufte die D.T.&I.Ry. 1980 an die kanadische Grand Trunk Western RR, die sie 1983 komplett in sich aufnahm. | | Specials: | Grün/schwarzer ABNC-Stahlstich, höchst eindrucksvolle und detailreich gestochene Vignette einer gewaltigen Dampflok mit Eisenbahnbeamten. | | Availability: | Unentwertet, Kupons ab 1912 anhängend.
