Um 1200 entwickelte sich hier eine Siedlung, die bis Mitte des 14. Jh. dem Goslarschem Recht unterlag. Die Bartholomäuskirche wurde ebenfalls um 1200 errichtet, das Rathaus wurde 1233 erstmals bezeugt. Im 13. Jh. erhielt Blankenburg Markt- und Münzrecht. 1599 fiel die Stadt an die Welfen. | | Specials: | Sehr dekorativ, großes Wappen im Unterdruck.
