Durch diese leicht zu erschließenden Vorkommen war Österreich-Ungarn mit einer Jahresförderung von knapp 3 Mio. t zu Beginn des 1. Weltkrieges das drittgrößte Ölförderland der Erde. Dass man hier, wenige Tage vor Ende des 1.
