Im Juni 1914 erfolgte die Umwandlung in zwei Aktiengesellschaften mit Sitz in Winterthur und Ludwigshafen am Rhein, die beide den Namen Gebrüder Sulzer AG erhielten. 1917 wurden beide Gesellschaften in einer Holding-Struktur unter der Sulzer-Unternehmungen AG gebündelt und in der Folge auch die ausländischen Verkaufsbüros (Mailand, Paris, Kairo, London, Moskau, Bukarest, japanische Köbe) in eigenständige Gesellschaften überführt.
