Wenngleich das für die damalige Zeit ohnehin schon beträchtliche Gründungskapital von 500.000 $ bis dahin noch glatt verdreifacht worden war, kam der „Director of the Mint“ in seinem 1883er Bericht dennoch zu dem Schluß, die Ergebnisse der Mine seien „not assessable“, also nicht einschätzbar.
