Über 1000 Mitglieder turnten bereits beim 1859 gegründeten Oldenburger Turnverein (OTB). Somit war die Zeit auch in Eversten gekommen, einen Turnverein zu gründen. Am 30.1.1894 war der Start für den Turnverein Eversten, 29 junge Everste traten dem Verein sofort bei.
