Zweck war Anlage und Ausnutzung von Plantagen in Deutsch-Afrika, sowie von Landwirtschaft überhaupt, um Kaffee, Kautschuk und andere tropische Produkte zu kultivieren, ferner industrielle und Handelsunternehmungen aller Art. Die Gesellschaft produzierte ausser Kaffee und Kautschuk auch Chinin, Baumwolle und Pfeffer. Plantagen: Balangai, Lewa, Kwata und Mahezangulu. Bankhaus und Agenten in Zanzibar: Deutsch-Ostafrikanische Gesellschaft.
