KG seit 1949, GmbH in Ludwigsburg seit 1951, seit 1970 in Berlin GmbH, 1986 Umwandlung in AG. Entwicklung, Herstellung und Vertrieb von Erzeugnissen der Fernmelde- und Kommunikationstechnik, der Starkstrom- und Informationstechnik. Zu seinen besten Zeiten hatte der Krone-Konzern 33 Töchterunternehmen im Ausland und weltweit 6400 Mitarbeiter, davon 2000 in Berlin. 1996 verkaufte Klaus Krone die Krone AG an Jenoptik. Doch Jenoptik mißlang der Ausflug in die Telekommunikationsindustrie und reichte Krone an das US-Unternehmen GenTek weiter. 2004 verkaufte GenTek die Krone-Gruppe an den Netzausrüster ADC Telecommunikation.
