Diese wurde 1979 als Industriebeteiligungen Dr. Bernau und Neubauer GmbH gegründet. 1984 in die “Berliner Elektro-Beteiligungen AG” umgewandelt und von der Deutschen Bank an die Börse gebracht. 1989 Umfirmierung in Berliner Elektro Holding AG. Nach einigen hervorragenden Jahren kam es zu Querelen zwischen Aufsichtsrat, Vorstand und dem Unternehmensgründer Dr. Bernau, der am Ende das Feld räumte.
