place: | Frankfurt a.M. | | Picture: |  | | Info: | Gegründet 1879 von Eugen Hartmann als "optische Anstalt, physikalisch astronomische Werkstätte" in Würzburg. 1882 trat Wunibald Braun, der Bruder Ferdinand Brauns (Erfinder der Braunschen Röhre, Nobelpreisträger für Physik) als Teilhaber ein. 1884 erfolgte auf dessen Empfehlung die Verlegung des Betriebes nach Frankfurt-Bockenheim. Seit 1901 AG. Produktionsschwerpunkt waren elektrische Meßgeräte. Ab 1930 vollzog man den Schritt von der Meß- zur Regelungstechnik. Nach dem Krieg folgte die Entwicklung zu einem modernen Unternehmen der Meß-, Regel- und Automatisierungstechnik. 1981 ging der von der AEG seit 1968 gehaltene Aktienanteil an die Firma Mannesmann über, die Hartmann & Braun 1995 an das internationale Unternehmen Elsag Bailey Process Automation verkaufte. 1999 wurde Hartmann & Braun dann vollständig in die schwedisch-schweizerische ABB integriert. | | Availability: | Belegstück der Frankfurter Börse handschriftlich numeriert (#641a).
