Ein Gesetz aus Ohio vom 31. Jan. autorisierte die Dayton and Western RR eine Einheit mit der Indiana Central zu bilden. Die Strecke von Indianapolis Ost nach Greenfield wurde im Sept. 1853 eröffnet und am 8. Okt. war sie komplett bis zur State Line, wo die Verbindung zur Dayton und Western hergestellt war. 1864 in der Columbus and Indianapolis Central Ry aufgegangen, welche 1867 in der Columbus and Indiana Central Ry aufging, 1883 dann die Chicago, St. Louis and Pittsburgh RR, 1890 die Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Chicago and St. Louis Ry, somit Teil des Pennsylvania RR Systems. Ab 1917 Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington RR, 1976 dann Consolidated Rail Corp.
