Das Theater wurde am 21. April 1915 eingeweiht mit der Operette La reginetta delle rose von Ruggero Leoncavallo. 1999 wurde das Theater restauriert, 2006 wurde es wieder eröffnet. Heute ist das Theater ein Sprechtheater und dient zur Aufführung von Opern und Sinfonien.
