Verwaltungssitz war Berlin W 15, Kurfürstendamm 224. Das Cracken (eng. spalten) ist ein Verfahren zur Stoffumwandlung in der Erdölverarbeitung, mit dem mittel- und langkettige Kohlenwasserstoffe in kurzkettige Kohlenwasserstoffe gespalten werden. Die kurzkettigen Stoffe wie Benzin, Diesel, leichtes Heizöl aus dem Erdöl werden eher benötigt als langkettige Stoffe (schweres Heizöl). Man unterscheidet das thermische und das katalytische Cracken. Der russische Ingenieur Wladimir Schuchow und der russische Chemiker Sergej Gawrilow entwickelten 1891 als erste eine industrielle Anlage zum thermischen Cracken von Erdöl. In den USA wurde ein solches Verfahren von William M. Burton bei Standard Oil entwickelt und 1913 patentiert. | | Specials: | Eingetragen auf Oscar Heller in Basel. Anh.
