Riesenverluste nach Ausgabe von Inhaberschuldverschreibungen. Die Staatsanwaltschaft Düsseldorf hatte nach Medienberichten bereits 2005 Räume der Deutschen PET durchsucht. Laut BSZ war Ulrich Appel, Geschäftsführer der "ECO-Pack", auch als Vorstand der Deutsche PET AG tätig. Das Engagement bei der ECO-Pack war angeblich Grund für den Insolvenzantrag.
