Sie dienten dem aufstrebendem Bürgertum als Zentren der Kommunikation unter dem Mantel der Freizeitgestaltung. Die noch heute bestehende Casino-Gesellschaft Neuwied wurde bereits 1799 gegründet. In den 1826 formulierten Statuten wurde unter Punkt No. 1 festgelegt: „Dez Zweck der Gesellschaft ist, den Ernst des Geschäftslebens auf eine für Geist und Gemüth wohltuende Weise zu erheitern, und besteht daher in geselliger Unterhaltung...“ | | Availability: | Nur 3 Stücke in guter Erhaltung wurden 2015 gefunden.
