Produktion leonischer Erzeugnisse wie Borten und Bänder aus feinen Gold-, Silber- und Kupferdrähten. 1898 Start der Produktion isolierter Kupferdrähte zur Leitung elektrischen Stroms. 1900 Einführung der nahtlosen Gummiummantelung durch Guttapercha. 1904 Errichtung eines eigenen Gummiwerkes. 1910 Fabrikation von Starkstromkabeln zur Erdverlegung. 1923 Umwandlung in eine AG als Bayerisches Kabelwerk, Riffelmacher & Engelhardt AG. Das Bayka-Werk übersteht den 2. Weltkrieg unzerstört als eines von wenigen Kabelwerken in Deutschland. 1956 Änderung der Firmierung in Bayerische Kabelwerke AG. Im Jahr 2012 beschäftigt die Bayka am Stammsitz in Roth sowie in Berlin 340 Mitarbeiter.
