Die Werke in Duisburg und Aschaffenburg fabrizierten Röhren und Bleche aus Kupfer und Messing vor allem für Lokomotiv- und Schiffsmaterial. Ferner gehörte der Ges. die Khan-Kupfergrube bei Swakopmund in Deutsch-Südwestafrika, die nach dem verlorenen ersten Weltkrieg als Feindvermögen beschlagnahmt wurde. 1927 Fusion mit der Selve AG in Altena und der C. Berg AG in Werdohl zur “Berg-Heckmann-Selve AG”. 1930 erneute Fusion u.a. mit den Heddernheimer Kupferwerken zur “Vereinigte Deutsche Metallwerke AG” mit Sitz in Einsal bei Altena (Westf.), 1934 Sitzverlegung nach Frankfurt a.M.-Heddernheim. Bis heute eine der bedeutendsten Firmen der deutschen NE-Metallhalbzeugproduktion. Letzter Großaktionär war die Metallgesellschaft mit 98,8 %, die Aktien notierten in Frankfurt.
