Das Unternehmen beherrschte zu der Zeit der Großindustrielle Günther Quandt. 1949/54 Umfirmierung in Industrie-Werke Karlsruhe AG (IWKA), 2005/06 nach Konzentration auf das Hauptgeschäft Industrieroboter umbenannt in KUKA AG.
