Die Teilstrecke Bellinzona-Lostalla wurde am 6.5.1907 eröffnet, die Reststrecke bis Mesocco am 31.7.1907. Die sog. Misoxerbahn gehörte zwischen 1942 und 2003 zur Rhätischen Bahn. Heute wird auf dem verbliebenen 13 km langen Reststück von der Ferrovia Mesolcinese (FM) ein Bahnbetrieb aufrecht erhalten.
