Aus einer eher provinziellen Supermarktkette mit 150 Läden im Saaland und in der Pfalz wurde binnen weniger Jahre in einer beispiellosen Expansionspolitik die größte deutsche SB-Warenhausgruppe, die mit dem provokanten Slogan warb: “Wo sich die Ärsche reiben.” Zur Gruppe gehörten: divi Warenhaus, real-kauf, Adler-Bekleidungsmärkte, Deutsche SB-Kauf (ehemals co op), NVA Waren-Handels-AG, Meierei Bolle, Praktiker Bau- und Heimwerkermärkte, Möbel-Unger, Massa, AVA u.v.m. - nicht weniger als 400 Gesellschaften waren zuletzt in den Konzernabschluß einbezogen!
