Obwohl die damaligen Wissenschaftler von einer Befahrung des Atlantischen Ozeans mit Dampfern abrieten, realisierte Cunard sein Vorhaben, eine regelmäßige Dampfschiffsverbindung zwischen Europa und Nordamerika aufzubauen. 1878 formelle Gründung der Cunard Steam-Ship Co. in Liverpool. 1932 fusionieren auf Druck der englischen Regierung die Nordatlantikflotten der Cunard Line Ltd. und der White Star Line Ltd. (Reederei der berühmten “Titanic”) zur Cunard-White Star Ltd., während die Mittelmeerflotte weiter bei der Cunard Steam-Ship Co. verblieb. 1971 (nach 131 Jahren unabhängiger Existenz) von Trafalgar House plc übernommen. | | Condition: | EF-VF. | | Sold: | 100,00 EUR |
