Jahrhunderts mehrere, damals moderne Ziegeleibetriebe. Die wirtschaftliche Lage erforderte jedoch eine Rationalisierung. Die Brüder Ernst und Jacob Schmidheiny von Heerbrugg, beide im Verwaltungsrat der Dampfziegelei Heurieth tätig, organisierten den Zusammenschluss der “Ziegeleien Albishof-Heurieth” und der “Mechanische Backsteinfabrik Zürich” zur Aktiengesellschaft “Zürcher Ziegeleien”. Sie trägt heute den Namen “Conzzeta AG”. Die Aktivitäten der heutigen Conzzeta Holding liegen in den Bereichen Maschinen- und Anlagenbau, Schaumstoffe, Sportartikel, grafische Beschichtungen sowie Immobilien.
