Picture: Number: 221 Info: Gegründet 1865 nach der Verschmelzung der Buffalo & Alleghany Valley RR mit der Buffalo & Washington RR. Strecke von Buffalo, NY. nach Emporium, Pa., 120,55 Meilen lang. 1882 übernahm die Ges. mehrere kleine Bahnen, u.a. Olean, Bradford & Warren RR, Kendall & Eldred Railway, Kinzua Railway und Rochester, New York & Pennsylvania RR. Specials: Sehr dekorative Vignette mit Eisenbahnszene am Bahnhof. Original signiert von E.G. Spaulding als Trustee. Elbridge Gerry Spaulding (1809-1907), Bankier, bedeutender Politiker, ab 1854 Finanzminister von New York, autorisierte 1861/62 die Herausgabe der ersten Dollar-Banknoten aus Papier, die aufgrund ihrer Farbe “Greenbacks” genannt wurden, was Laubfrosch bedeutet.
