Später geriet die Bank in große finanzielle Schwierigkeiten, weshalb sie den Norwegischen Staat um 25 Mio. nkr (heute ein Wert von ca. 100 Mio. $) ersuchte. Als die Gesellschaft 1923 Konkurs anmelden musste, strengte sie einen Prozess gegen den Premierminister an, da er eine finanzielle Hilfestellung verweigert hatte.
