Das Ende 1898 in Produktion gegangene Werk in Hannover-Anderten wurde 1908 durch ein riesiges Schadenfeuer fast völlig eingeäschert, wiederaufgebaut und 1945 durch Fliegerangriffe erneut zu 2/3 zerstört. 1948 wurde die alliierte Genehmigung zur Wiederaufnahme der Zementherstellung erteilt. 1962 mit einem Konsortium Erwerb der Aktienmehrheit der benachbarten Portland-Cement-Fabrik Germania.
