Vermögenden US-Bürgern wurden die Ländereien in La Gloria gleich in Kombination mit Aktien der Firma verkauft. Allerdings ließ das Interesse der Aktionäre an einer gedeihlichen Entwicklung vor Ort zu wünschen übrig, und im 1. Weltkrieg schlief das Entwicklungsprojekt ein. | | Specials: | Vignette mit Allegorie der Freiheit mit Wappenschild, US-Flagge und Weißkopfseeadler. | | Availability: | Einzelstück aus einer uralten Sammlung. Dabei umfangreiche Zusatzdokumente des Aktionärs Samuel J. Dickson aus Weldon, Mass. (Dickson Lumber & MillWork Co.), so der Originalkontrakt zum Aktienkauf von 1899 und ein Brief vom 10.10.1924, in dem die in New York, 60 Wall Street ansässige Gesellschaft an Mr. Dickson die geschäftliche Schieflage erklärt. Besonders amüsant die Erklärung, warum keine Geschäftsberichte mehr veröffentlicht werden: “For the past several years this company has issued no annual report, due to the fact that the expense involved far exceeded the benfits obtained.” Der dazugehörige Briefumschlag ist postalisch direkt an der Wall Street gestempelt.
