Zu den bedeutendsten Vertretern der Familie gehörten Olof August Brodin (1840-1911) und sein Sohn Erik Brodin (1872-1931). Seine 1916 gegründete Werft ging 1922 in Konkurs, die Brodins Flotte wurde von der AB Svenska Handelsbanken übernommen und verkauft.
