Die Firmengründung erfolgte 1894. Bis 1905 hat sich die Gesellschaft auf 300 acres vergrößert, beschäftigte 400 Arbeiter und produzierte über 200.000 Goldunzen im Jahr. Zurück ins Jahr 1892: James Burns und James Doyles, zwei der Gründer und Entdecker der Portland Mine, befürchteten, ihren Claim an die umliegenden und schon Gold fördernden Gesellschaften zu verlieren. So nahmen sie den Goldbaron Winfield Scott Stratton, dessen Goldmine "Independence" angrenzte, mit in das Team auf, um den Prozess- und weitere Entwicklungskosten bestreiten zu können. Die Portland Mine wurde die reichste Goldmine im Cripple Creek District mit der Produktion von insgesamt über 300 Mio. Goldunzen. | | Specials: | Original signiert vom Firmengründern James F.
