Eine große Rolle spielte hierbei der Bau des Mittellandkanals und die dabei nutzbar gemachten Wasserkräfte. Ende der 20er Jahre, finanziert mit Auslandsanleihen, weitere Engagements bei der neu gegründeten HASTRA und beim Schleswig-Holsteinischen Elektrizitäts-Verband.
