Von 1992 bis 1997 kaufte die DBBH zu sehr günstigen Preisen Aktien der nicht börsennotierten Ungarischen Außenhandelsbank im außerbörslichen Handel in Budapest. 2000 betrug der Anteil 10%, dieser wurde im Mai 2000 an die Bayerische Landesbank veräußert und erzielte damit einen Veräußerungsgewinn von mehr als 20 Mio. DM. 1999 Verkürzung des Namens auf Deutsche Balaton AG.
