Gegründet 1916 von Johan Throne Holst als schwedische Tochter der norwegischen Freia-Chocolade. Da der Name "Freia" in Schweden bereits rechtlich geschützt war, wählte Holst als Markennamen den Storch Marabu (Marabou), der das Logo von Freia zierte. Die Fabrik in Sundbyberg startete 1919 mit Tafelschokoladen und Kakaoprodukten. 1993 ging Marabou an Kraft Foods (heute Mondelez International). Specials: Unten Storch-Vign. als Markenlogo.
