place: | Longview, Texas | | Picture: |  | | Number: | 512 | | Info: | Projektiert war eine 350 Meilen lange Strecke vom Sabine Pass nach Red River. 1888 kaufte man der Galveston, Sabine & Ry. das 21 Meilen lange Teilstück von Longview (dem Ausgangspunkt dieser Bahn) nach Martins Creek ab und baute daran anschließend selbst weitere 15 Meilen bis Carthage. Im Sept. 1893 ging die Bahn in Konkurs, nach der Konkursversteigerung 1897 Weiterführung unter unverändertem Namen. Lediglich weitere 2 Meilen Strecke bis Boren, Tx. wurden danach fertig. Entsprechend schlecht war die finanzielle Lage: 1 Mio. $ waren verbaut, aber 4 Lokomotiven mit 20 Waggons fuhren gerade einmal 150.000 $ Jahreseinnahmen ein, obwohl man 1904 noch die 19 Meilen lange Bahn Carthage-Timpson von der Marshall, Timpson & Sabine Pass RR gepachtet hatte. Ende 1904 hatte das Drama mit dem Verkauf an die Texas & Gulf Ry. ein Ende. | | Specials: | Nur wenige Monate nach Ausgabe dieser Anleihe ging die Ges. pleite.
