Ihre wichtige Funktion für den Anschluß der Fernbahnen an die Innenstadt von Philadelphia erfüllte die Junction RR mit ihren beiden Strecken von Belmont zur Einfädelung in die Pennsylvania RR an der 35th Street (1,95 Meilen) und dem nördlichen Ende des Market Street Tunnel nach Gray’s Ferry am Schuylkill River (1,67 Meilen).
