Die Bahn war von Anfang an als Konkurrenz zur Long Island Railroad (LIRR) gedacht, die ihr aber stets eine Nasenlänge voraus blieb, indem sie z.B. von der S.S.R.R.ofL.I. zur Durchfahrt benötigte Strecken einfach aufkaufte. 1874 als Southern RR of Long Island reorganisiert und 1876 an den Rivalen Long Island RR verpachtet. 1879 erneut reorganisiert als Brooklyn & Montauk RR und 1889 schließlich mit der LIRR fusioniert. Damit kamen von der South Side zur LIRR die bis heute in Betrieb befindliche Montauk Branch von Long Island City nach Jamaica, die Atlantic Branch von Jamaica nach Valley Stream sowie die Bushwick Branch und die Far Rockaway Branch sowie die IND Rockaway Line der New York City Subway von Far Rockaway nach Hammels. | | Specials: | Großes Querformat, blaugrün/schwarzer Druck mit zwei Eisenbahn- und einer Wappen-Vignette. | | Availability: | Unentwertet, kpl.
